Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 8 May 2026

We believe in being completely upfront with our readers, so we want you to know how Gentle Focus is funded.

We use affiliate links

Some of the links on Gentle Focus are affiliate links. This means that if you click on a link to a product or service we recommend, and you go on to buy it, we may earn a small commission from the seller — at no extra cost to you.

The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or not. The commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your pocket.

What this means for our recommendations

Affiliate income helps cover the costs of running this site (hosting, tools, time spent researching and writing). However, it never influences what we recommend.

Our promise to you:

  • We only recommend products and services we have used ourselves or have researched in depth
  • We tell you when something hasn’t worked for us, even if we earn from it
  • We never recommend a product purely because it pays a higher commission
  • If we wouldn’t recommend something to a friend, we don’t recommend it on Gentle Focus

How to spot an affiliate link

We mark affiliate links clearly within our articles. Where a link is part of a recommendation, you will see a short disclosure note nearby (for example: “Disclosure: if you buy through my link I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you”).

We also use the standard rel=”sponsored” and rel=”nofollow” attributes on affiliate links, in line with Google’s guidelines for qualifying outbound links.

Networks and programs we work with

Gentle Focus currently participates in:

  • ClickBank — a digital marketplace for online courses, ebooks, and software
  • We may add other affiliate programs over time, and will keep this disclosure updated

Why we do this

Building genuinely useful content takes time and money. Affiliate income lets us keep Gentle Focus free for readers, without filling the site with intrusive adverts or selling subscriptions.

We would rather earn modestly from honest recommendations than make more from products we don’t believe in.

Compliance

This disclosure is made in line with:

  • The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) guidance on influencer marketing
  • The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) rules on hidden advertising
  • The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides (relevant for some of our US readers)
